UC Davis CTSC would like to recognize Clinical Research Coordinators and others in CRC functional roles who have demonstrated exceptional qualities to promote integrity and excellence for clinical research profession. We ask Departments and Centers involved in clinical research to nominate their outstanding employees by completing one of the nomination criteria listed below.

All nominations need to be submitted via this secure link by April 19, 2024. The nominations will be reviewed by the CTSC Nominations Committee and outstanding employees will be selected. The Award Ceremony will be held on May 12th, 2024. Awardees will be notified prior to the ceremony and will receive $50 gift certificates and recognition plaques. Awardees will be asked to speak briefly about their professional career path and accomplishments.

Please complete the Nomination Criteria below. Focus on one particular competency per a nominee. While a CRC may be nominated for more than one competency as appropriate, the award will be focused on one competency only. Please indicate N/A for fields that are not relevant to the nomination.

SCIENTIFIC CONCEPTS AND RESEARCH DESIGN (CORE COMPETENCY #1)

1. Assists with development of research proposals or protocols.
2. Collaboration with key study personnel to determine application of study results to future study procedures.
3. Engages other key personnel in various units to ensure adequate trial design and implementation.

ETHICAL AND PARTICIPANT SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS (CORE COMPETENCY #2)

1. Promotes and ensures that the research is conducted according to the highest ethical standards.
2. Communicates effectively with patients to ensure they are aware of the difference between clinical activities and research activities.
3. Familiar with ethical conduct of research and actively promotes study safety to effectively protect vulnerable populations.

CLINICAL TRIALS OPERATIONS [GCP] (CORE COMPETENCY #4)

1. Demonstrates a caring nature for the subjects/patients in his/her care.
2. Aware of and possesses GCP compliance training; serves as a resource for others when patient safety, reporting, and compliance matters arise.
3. Excellent recruitment and retention strategies.

1. Strong and innovative problem solving skills & identifies potential solutions.
2. Demonstrates ability to use individualized skills in an effective and productive manner.
